Project Results

  • Crossbred male calves, suitable for fattening, will be born from dairy cows. Their carcass will be labeled GREEK.
  • Beef calves will be born after embryo transfer to dairy cows. They will be used in future as embryo or sperm donors.
  • The guidelines for the proper management of crossbred beef Greek calves (nutrition required ratios, rearing contitions), will be set.
    The goal is the production of a final product with superior features and increased added value. Beef meat, competitive to imported carcasses quality, will be produced, meeting consumer demands as they will be recorded during organoleptic evaluation.
  • A business model (perspectives and guidelines -economic/business) to produce superior quality Greek beef, based on consumer demands, will be emerged.
