WP2 Multiple ovulation, embryo collection and transfer

Purpose

The aim of WP2 is to make widely known the possibility of applying the collection of purebred beef embryos and transfer them to dairy cows. The final goal is to standardized the procedure in order dairy farmers to be able to buy beef embryos at favorable prices in the future.

Materials and methods

• Application of Multiple Ovulation in Beef Cows
• Collection of embryos from purebred beef cows and transfer to dairy cows or freezing them for future use
• Transfer of purebred frozen embryos of a specific breed.

Expected results

During Work Package 2 is expected to be produced male and female calves that will be used in the future as embryo donors or sperm donors.
